Dartmouth Swimming & Diving Announces the Addition of 22 Freshmen to the Team:
Dartmouth swimming and diving will welcome 22 freshmen to the pool next fall as members of the Dartmouth Class of 2014. "This class is one of the strongest and deepest classes that we have ever had," said head coach, Jim Wilson. "Adding strength to the team and filling in some holes in last season's lineup, the '14's will help our program thrive within the Ivy League and reach the next level." The Big Green welcome 14 women and eight men to Hanover, in preparation for a great season, beginning at home against Ivy League rivals Harvard and Cornell on Saturday, November 16.
2014 WOMEN:
Arenne Clark
Carlisle, Pa. - North York Aquatic Club
Arenne is the daughter of a United States Air Force Colonel. She is a strong distance freestyler who will also add depth to the strong butterfly squad of the Big Green. She is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, NSCAA All-American and multiple high school record-holder.
Kendall Farnham
Saverna Park, Md. - Saverna Park YMCA
In addition to being a talented distance runner with state-wide credentials, Kendall is an excellent butterflier with high school times that are competitive with the best in the Ivy League, as well as with Dartmouth's current varsity records. This year, she earned both the Players Award and Coaches Award for both cross country and swimming and represented SPY as a finalist in the fly events at YMCA National Championships.
Katy Feng
Westford, Mass. - Boston Area Diving
Katy is a four-time All American, two-time State Champion and a USA Diving National Qualifyer. She will have immediate impact by adding to the very rich Dartmouth diving squad, lead by Ivy League Champion, Erica Serpico '12.
Erin Henn
Lawrenceville, N.J. - Scarlet Aquatic Club
Erin will join her older sister, Tara '12 at Dartmouth, specializing in distance freestyle and the 200 fly. As a member of Scarlet Aquatic Club, she is a USAS Sectional qualifier and has competed against the Nation's best swimmers in several Grand Prix meets around the country.
Kirstin Hocheder
Tucson, Ariz. - Tucson Ford Aquatics
Kirstin is an excellent distance swimmer, with versatility in IM as well. Coming from Tucson Ford Aquatics, she has trained alongside of some of the top swimming talent in the Nation. She is the Arizona high school state champion in the 500 free and a finalist at USAS Sectionals.

Gainesville, Fla. - Gator Swim Club
Danielle Kerr
Gainesville, Fla. - Gator Swim Club
Twin sisters, Christine and Danielle, are versatile swimmers specializing in sprint and mid-distance freestyle as well as being excellent butterfliers and IM'ers. They will be immediately competitive with the top swimmers in the Ivy League in several events, as well as the current Dartmouth varsity records. Both women have shared the honor of MVP of Eastside High's team all four years of high school, are USAS National qualifiers and high school All-Americans. Christine was also named Eastside High School's Athlete of the Year (2010).
Megan Kratky
Westport, Conn. - Whirlwind Diving
Meg joins the Big Green diving squad of six women, giving Dartmouth great depth in talent on both 1-meter and 3-meter boards for the coming season.
Teva Levens
Palo Alto, Calif. - Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics
Teva will have instant impact on the success of the Big Green with strength as a breaststroker and sprint freestyler, and will contribute in a variety of individual events and on all free and medley relays.
Katie Rohn
Darien, Conn. - New Canaan YMCA
Katie has always had green in her blood, as the daughter of two Dartmouth alumni (Mom '86, Dad '83). As a backstroker, Katie captained the Darien High School team her senior year and owns a Connecticut state record. She is a FCIAC Scholar Athlete and Connecticut Senior Scholar Athlete.
Meredith Sweeney
Hinsdale, Ill. - Wheaton Swim Club
Meredith comes to Dartmouth after a fantastic high school swimming career in the fiercely competitive swimming state of Illinois. She is a very talented backstroker with times that will instantly be competitive with the best backstrokers in the Ivy League as well as with Dartmouth's varsity record in the 200 back.
Mary Van Metre
Edina, Minn. - Edina Swim Club
Mary joins several other '14 swimmers as the child of a Dartmouth alum (Mom '81). She is a very talented sprint freestyler with a great deal of potential, as she is dedicated to swimming in college following a successful high school ski racing career in Edina as well.
Natalia Vecerek
Palos Verdes, Calif. - Swim Torrance
Recruited as a strong backstroker and butterflier, Natalia has also demonstrated that she is a force in the 50 and 100 free as well, with recent league titles and school records in the sprint events for Palos Verdes High School. She has earned two team MVP awards and captained the Palos Verdes team to its fourth straight CIF League title in her senior year.
Shelley Wenzel
Fremont, Calif. - MSJHS Warriors
Shelley joins Dartmouth following her brother's successful career in swimming and water polo for the Big Green. Like her brother, Drew '08, Shelley will provide depth in the sprint free events and hopes to play water polo for the women's club team.
2014 MEN:
Nick Burford
Lakeville, Conn. - Hotchkiss School
Nick is a multi-sport athlete at the Hotchkiss School in cross-country, swimming, track, and golf, but will focus on swimming breaststroke and freestyle at Dartmouth.
Dylan Gabel
Alta Loma, Calif. - Claremont Club
Dylan, a distance freestyler who has been swimming since he was four years old, is a Summer and Winter Junior National qualifier, Junior Olympic champion, and All-American in the 500 free. He will add instant strength to Dartmouth's growing mid/distance squad.
Matt Long
Parker, Colo. - Colorado Stars
Matt is a decorated student-athlete who will add to Dartmouth's strong backstroke and IM squad. This year, he earned the Colorado Hoyt Brawner Award for Swimmer of the Year, and is an All-American Qualifier, multi-year State Finalist in backstroke and IM. He is also a USA Swimming and Colorado State Scholastic All-American.
Jake Nevola
Austin, Texas - Longhorn Aquatics
Jake captained his high school team in Austin this year under the tutelage of St. Stephen's Coach, former World Record-holder, Ian Croaker. Jake was an all-conference swimmer (Southwest Prep) all four years of high school, swimming breaststroke and IM.
Andrew North
Omaha, Neb. - Greater Omaha Aquatics
As a Junior National qualifier, Andrew will be a great addition to the sprint free and fly squad that Dartmouth is building, rich with young talent.
Ben Weil
Woodbridge, Conn. - Soco Diving
In addition to playing lacrosse and water-polo in high school, Ben is a six-time varsity diving letterman and a NISCA All American. He will join a Men's diving squad that has had significant improvement in recent seasons and a long history of success.
Sam Winters
Dover, N.H. - Seacoast Swimming Association
Sam has been one of the top freestylers in New England over the last few years and will swim sprint and mid-distance for Dartmouth this fall. Sam is active in the community, and is a frequent contributor to the Special Olympics effort.
Nejc Zupan
Kamnik, Slovenia - Swim Club Ljublijana
Nejc comes to Hanover from Slovenia and will join the growing number of international swimmers on Dartmouth's men's team. As a distance freestyler, Nejc gives The Big Green a significant talent relative to the Ivy League and Dartmouth's varsity records. He will also be a significant contributor in backstroke, breaststroke and IM events during the dual meet season. He is a member of the Slovenian National Team, winning the 400, 800, and 1500M free last year at National Championships and placing in the Top 25 at European Junior Championships.
